Mediocrity is comfortable but excellence requires conviction. It’s easy to cultivate mediocrity because it costs nothing. Excellence demands sacrifice.
Nutrition and exercise require you to put the courage of your convictions into action.
Unto God be the glory
Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men. – Colossians 3:23
There is always a cost
But King David said to Araunah, No, but I will buy it of you for a price. I will not offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God of that which costs me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. – 2 Samuel 24:24
Knowing God changes your perspective
Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh-barnea to scout out the land. And I brought him a report as it was in my heart. But my brethren who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt; yet I wholly followed the Lord my God. – Joshua 14:7,8
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.] – John 16:33
